Preview: Albion Sports vs Farsley Celtic (22/07/2021)

For the first time in 502 days, supporters will be able to watch Farsley Celtic at the Citadel, as we take on Albion Sports on Thursday evening.

As this is an Albion Sports home game, admission is pay at the gate with prices set at £5 for adults and £3 for concessions.

Farsley Celtic:
Adam Lakeland’s side will be looking to pick up where they left off last week after a break in match action caused by the cancellation of Scunthorpe United’s visit to the Citadel.

The early returns in pre-season have been promising for the Celts, with back-to-back victories over NCEL Premier Division sides Eccleshill United (4-1) and Thackley (4-0).

Chris Atkinson and Luke Parkin could both feature for the first time this pre-season, whilst Ben McKenna and Sam Walker are both in line to make their first appearances at the Citadel after joining the club this summer.

Don’t forget that season tickets, which are amongst the best value in the league, and tickets for our remaining home pre-season games are available to purchase. Get yours HERE.

Albion Sports:
Thursday evening represents the penultimate friendly of Albion Sports’ pre-season campaign, with the 2021/22 NCEL Premier Division season just 10 days away.

Last season, the Lions were comfortably mid-table when COVID-19 curtailed the campaign, sitting 10th in the division having collected 13 points from their nine games.

Albion Sports will be looking to build on that effort in the upcoming season, but have endured mixed fortunes in their preparations thus far, defeating Steeton 4-0, but losing to both Ilkley Town (4-2) and Nelson (2-0).
